Fund partners to benefit Toys for Tots

The Strimbu Memorial Fund, part of the Shenango Valley Foundation, teamed up with the Ski Chalet in Niles and Quaker Steak and Lube to gather donations for Toys for Tots this holiday season.

The Trumbull County Chapter of the charitable group donated an additional $2,500 in toys. Local members of the Marines stopped by the Ski Chalet recently to collect all the donated toys, well over $5,000 worth.

The memorial fund has made donations throughout the three-county area for the past 23 years and has distributed more than $2 million in aid to the local community.

Weight-loss group schedules open house

AUSTINTOWN

TOPS Chapter 2191 has scheduled an open house Jan. 19 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road.

TOPS is a weight-loss support group for men, women and children age 7 and up. Chapter 2191 meets from 5:45 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings at the church.
