Staff report

WARREN

The Trumbull Community Action Program, 2030 Tod Ave. SW, is scheduling appointments for the Winter Crisis Assistance Program, which runs to March 31.

Assistance is available if a person’s heating service is off, if there is a threat of service being disconnected, if someone needs to establish new service or transfer service, or if the home-heating fuel tank is 25 percent full or less.

Applicants must bring this information during their appointment: photo identification, Social Security cards for everyone in the home, a gas bill or past fuel-oil receipt and electric bill.

Applicants must provide household income for the past three months for monthly income and 13 weeks for employment income.

Employment income includes pay stubs and child-support printouts.

Proof of income must be provided for all monthly income received, including rental draft checks, cash assistance, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Income.

Walk-in days will be every Monday and Wednesday morning unless it is a holiday. Customers will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

On Mondays, TCAP will see 40 customers. The first 20 eligible customers will be processed before lunch and numbers 21 to 40 will be processed after lunch. All 40 numbers will be assigned at 5 a.m. On Wednesdays, TCAP will see 20 customers.

For an appointment, call 1-866-747-1041. Do not hang up before getting a confirmation number.

The client-services department will be closed Monday, Friday and Jan. 2.
