First Night and New Year’s Eve entertainment celebrations in Youngstown, Canfield and Salem had record attendance last year, mainly because of the unseasonably warm and pleasant weather that night.

The family-oriented, alcohol-free events are hoping for a repeat on Saturday night.

In Youngstown, two new venues have been added to the mix: the OH WOW! Children’s Center for Science and Technology on West Federal Street and the Central YMCA.

Patrons can enjoy dinner early at all three events before taking their pick of the shows they want to see.

It’s best to have a plan of action before the evening starts, so here’s a look at the lineups for all three New Year’s Eve events:

First night Youngstown

Information

Opening ceremonies will be at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at 20 Federal Place. Admission buttons, good for admission to all venues, are $10 ($5 for students age 13 through college, with ID; senior citizens and members of the military with ID; free for children 12 and under). Buttons can be purchased at First Night Youngstown headquarters, 20 Federal Place, in the buildings and grounds department office; online at firstnightyoungstownoh.com; at several other locations listed on the website; and at any venue the night of the event. Fireworks will be at 9 p.m. and midnight at Covelli Centre.

FIRST NIGHT canfield

First Night Canfield has chosen the theme “Through A Child’s Eyes” with the button designed by Kathy Drummond of Added Touch Buttons. The buttons are good for admission to all venues and cost $10 (free for children 18 and under). Cabaret dinner-theater performances will be at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at A La Carte on Lisbon Street with Sarah McGraw performing. Cost is $25 per person, which includes admision button (entr e choices: swiss chicken or stuffed pork chop). Buttons and cabaret dinner tickets can be purchased at the First Night office, 42 S. Broad St. (former Kolachi Caf ) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A fireworks display will be set off at midnight.
