Postal service plans public meeting

BOARDMAN

The U.S. Postal Service will have a public meeting to discuss its proposal to move some mail-processing operations from the Youngstown processing and distribution plant to Pittsburgh.

The meeting will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave.

A postal service Area Main Processing study began Sept. 15 in Youngstown to determine the feasibility of consolidating redundant operations and to see if the postal service could save money from a consolidation.

Initial results support consolidating mail-processing operations at the Youngstown facility into the Pittsburgh facility.
