Julie Ann Obusek and William John Koren Jr., both of North Bethesda, Md., exchanged marriage vows Nov. 26 at St. Paul the Apostle Church. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Rev. Nicholas Shori, and the couple’s reception followed at The Lake Club in Poland.

The bride is the daughter of John and Christine Obusek of Weston, Mass., and the groom is the son of William Sr. and Evlyn Koren of New Middletown.

The bride’s ensemble featured a strapless gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and a finger-tip veil trimmed with Swarovski crystals.

Bridal attendants wearing wine-colored dresses were Kimberly Obusek, the bride’s sister, as maid of honor and bridesmaids Colleen Correia; Mary Obusek, the bride’s sister-in-law; Katherine Cahill, the bride’s cousin; Patricia Bean; and Michelle Archambault. The flower girl was Ainsley Unabia, the groom’s niece.

Thomas Rawlings performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Steven Brown; Kenneth Turner; Matthew Koren, the groom’s cousin; James Cavanaugh; and Andrew Obusek, the bride’s brother. The ring bearer was Benjamin Alvarico, the groom’s nephew.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Villanova University and is a registered nurse at Catalyst in Bethesda, Md. She is a captain with the U.S. Army Reserve.

The groom is a graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a bond trader at First Internet Securities Network in Bethesda.

After a wedding trip to the French Polynesian Islands, the couple are living in North Bethesda.
