Suspects held in robbery of Rite-Aid in Warren

WARREN

Brothers Gerald Bacon, 19, and Nick Bacon, 18, are in the Trumbull County jail after police arrested them Thursday night in the Wednesday night robbery of a Rite Aid store.

An innocent plea was entered Friday in Warren Municipal Court for each of the brothers to aggravated robbery, and bond was set at $150,000 for each.

If convicted of the charge, each could spend up to 11 years in prison.

Police also charged a 14-year-old boy with aggravated robbery in the case, police said. He was taken to the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center.

The Bacon brothers and the 14-year-old live on Feederle Avenue Southeast, in the Trumbull Homes apartments south of Youngstown Road and east of state Route 169.

Police say videotape footage of the robbery from the store helped them make the arrests quickly.

Five or more black men wearing masks and dark clothing robbed the store, 2840 Youngstown Road, at 10:34 p.m. The store is near Trumbull Homes.

Two of the men had guns and held them to the neck and head of two female clerks before getting cash. Police say they believe some of the robbers were milling around in the store just before the robbery.
