Poland girls basketball beats Springfield

The Poland girls varsity basketball team jumped out to a 23-15 lead en route to a 34-25 victory over Springfield on Dec. 17.

Top scorer for the game was Maura Bobby with 15 points. She added four rebounds. Liz Suess tallied eight points and seven rebounds. The Poland girls junior varsity basketball team lost 26-22 to Springfield.

Poland cagers beat Niles

The Poland girls varsity basketball team defeated Niles 50-25 on Dec. 15. The Bulldogs led 35-15 at halftime. Top scorers for Poland were Kelsey Malenic with 12 points, Maura Bobby and Aleah Hughes each added nine points and Abbie Frank and Rachael Robertson had seven each. The Poland girls junior varsity basketball team beat Niles, 32-24.

Poland Boosters sponsor basketball tournament

The Poland Boosters Basketball Tournament will be on Jan. 28 and 29 and Feb. 4 and 5. The tournament is for boys and girls in grades fourth, fifth and sixth.
