Julie Elizabeth Taylor of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and John Timothy Gavin of Umatilla, Fla., exchanged marriage vows Aug. 7 at New Life Church in Poland.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Rev. Jordan Taylor, the bride’s brother. The couple’s reception followed at The Georgetown in Boardman.

The bride is the daughter of John and Debbie Spiese of Salem and Dan Taylor of Warren. Parents of the groom are George and Pam Gavin of Umatilla.

The bride’s ivory satin gown was strapless and styled with a sweetheart neckline. It featured a fitted bodice embellished with Swarovski crystals, embroidery and delicate beadwork. The semicathedral train was adorned with scalloped lace.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Lisa McLaughlin. Bridesmaids were Katie Taylor, the bride’s sister-in-law, Abby Jones, Rachael Truslow, Lauren Start and Megan Morris. Amariah Fitch, a cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Flower girls were Abby and Claire Mangiafico, cousins of the bride. The attendants were dressed in Tiffany blue satin gowns.

Sharing best man responsibilities were Bryan and Luke Gavin, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Matthew Tomlinson, Billy Somerville, Justin Hartley and Justin Flowers. Christian Fitch, the bride’s cousin, was the junior groomsman. The ring bearer was Chase Gavin, the groom’s cousin.

The bride is a magna cum laude graduate of Southeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in pre-med biology. She is presently pursuing a master’s degree in medical science from Nova Southeastern University.

The groom graduated summa cum laude from Southeastern with a degree in business management and international business. He is a managing assistant at Hertz Rentals in Davie, Fla.

After a wedding trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple live in Plantation, Fla.
