YOUNGSTOWN

Courtney Powell scored 10 of her 24 points in the first quarter as Ursuline jumped out to an 18-11 lead. Powell also had 10 rebounds for the Irish (4-1), who outscored Mooney 16-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away. Aurielle Irizarry had nine points and Sydney Beasley eight. Jamie DiDomenico had 15 points for Mooney (2-3), which committed 21 turnovers to Ursuline’s 10.

East 52, Campbell 18

YOUNGSTOWN

Maujanette Feagins scored 12 points, grabbed 30 rebounds and blocked four shots for East, which ran out to a 12-2 lead after one quarter. Chimicka Kennedy added 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks for the Panthers (2-4). Campbell (0-6) made just 1 of 27 3-pointers and was outrebounded 65-33.

Maplewood 51, Youngstown Christian 31

YOUNGSTOWN

Allison Bell and Miranda Sloan wach hit three 3-pointers and finished with 17 and 15 points, respectively, for Maplewood (6-0). Brooke Dawson added 11 points. For Youngstown Christian (4-3), Shanell Harris had 12 points and Natalie Hoelzel added nine.

Liberty 52, Hubbard 45

HUBBARD

Vakeyla Merriweather went off for 29 points to lead Liberty. Kim Stapier and Leah Leshnack each added six points. Katelyn Evans led the Eagles with 18 points. The game was tied after the first quarter and Hubbard led by two at halftime. The Leopards outscored Hubbard 27-19 in the second half.

Struthers 47, Salem 26

McKenna Shives and Ashley Ryan each scored 13 points for Struthers. Ashley Hefferon added seven points, while Halle Smrek had six. Salem’s Linsey Foster led all scorers with 14 points and she grabbed eight rebounds. The Wildcats led 15-2 after the first quarter.

Brookfield 55, Newton Falls 41

BROOKFIELD

Tori Thompson had 19 points to lead Brookfield (3-1). Amy Rasoul had 13 points and Lauren Hawley netted five to go with seven assists. Rachel Ellis led Newton Falls (4-2) with 18 points.

Champion 55, Niles 34

CHAMPION

Mackenzie Kiser collected 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Flashes (4-1). Heather Shaver added 10 points for Champion. Niles (0-6) had nearly as many field goals (16-15) but shot just 4-for-7 from the foul line. Champion made 23 of its 33 free throw tries.

Mathews 41, Grand Valley 37

VIENNA

Jackie Rhine dominated inside with 20 rebounds to complement 15 points for Mathews’ first victory. Dana Almuerzo added four points with five assists and steals, while Jessica Marsco added nine points. Bailey Holmes had 10 points for Grand Valley.
