A 40-year-old East Side woman told police she was assaulted with a cast-iron skillet Sunday by a neighbor to whom she had provided free electricity.
The victim, a Quinn Street resident, said she allowed a man and woman living in an adjacent house, whose electricity was shut off, to run an extension cord to her house.
When a breaker tripped in the victim’s house Saturday, the man refused to show her how to fix the problem, and she unplugged the extension cord, she told police.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, the neighboring woman confronted the victim, hitting her 10 times on the side of her head with a skillet as the man held her down, the victim told police. Police spoke to the victim at St. Elizabeth Health Center, where she was treated.
