Phone service restored to Girard police

GIRARD

Telephone service to the Girard Police Department was restored at about 3:30 p.m. Friday. It was knocked out by a semi tractor-trailer that hit a power line Sunday afternoon.

Jerry Lambert, Girard service director, said Monday he wasn’t aware of any serious problems that resulted from the outage, which started at 5 p.m.

Calls to 911 were going to Liberty Township, Niles and the county 911 while the Girard 911 was down, Lambert said.

The Girard Fire department number — 330-545-4321 — was still working throughout the outage.
