Hynes Industries receives award

YOUNGSTOWN

Wabash National Corp. recently recognized Hynes Industries, a North American supplier and processor of steel and nonferrous metals based in Youngstown, as an outstanding supplier.

It’s the second-straight year Hynes has received the award.

Hynes, which has served the metalworking industry for more than 85 years, received a platinum award for excellence in supply-chain performance delivery, quality, cost and innovation.

Wabash is a leading manufacturer of semi-tractor trailers in North America.

Chamber lunch with Lt. Governor

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is hosting a government affairs council lunch with Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 9 at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave.

Taylor also serves as director of the Ohio Department of Insurance and leads CSI Ohio, which reforms Ohio’s regulatory policies.

YWCA of Warren taking applications

YWCA Warren is accepting applications for its Step Up career-training program through Friday.

Step Up is a free program, primarily funded through the Workforce Investment Agency, that serves young women who live in Trumbull County, age 16-24, who are at risk of poverty, currently living in poverty or may have dropped out of high school and are interested in pursuing their GED or high school diploma.
