Griffiths mark 50th with New England tour

Glenn and Michelle Griffiths of Mineral Ridge marked their 50th wedding anniversary in October with an 18-day trip throughout New England. A three-day stay at the historic Trapp Family Lodge mountain resort in Stow, Vt., highlighted the tour, which included, among other sites, visits to Boston; Bar Harbor, Maine; and Philadelphia.

Mr. Griffiths and the former Michelle Mickelson were married Oct. 7, 1961, at First Presbyterian Church in Niles.

The couple are the parents of two children, Paul of Niles and Alison Griffiths of New Springfield. A granddaughter, Maddie Griffiths, completes the family.

Mrs. Griffiths holds a doctorate in English from Kent State University along with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She taught there and at Youngstown State University and the University of Mount Union.

Mr. Griffiths attended Newberry College and is a graduate of YSU. He is a past president and CEO of Security Dollar Bank in Niles and is retired from the Community Action Agency of Columbiana. He is a veteran of both the U.S. Army Reserve and Air Force Reserve.

The couple are members of First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, where Mrs. Griffiths is a deacon.
