GABRIELLE BRANT

11“It’s been crazy,” she simply says, “but I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t do all of those things. I love being who I am.”

Out of all her many activities, Brant still cites tennis as her favorite.

“It’s probably been my life,” she said. “It’s one of those sports that you have to do everything in order to play it. You have to have integrity.”

In her spare time (yes, she does have some), Brant enjoys cooking and skiing. Her older sister, Christina, has had quite a big impact on her life. When she was a freshman, Christina was a senior. The sister pair competed as doubles partners and she says that helped prepare her for this season’s run to the state tournament.

“She had more of a mellow personality and I was more of a competitor,” Brant said. “She definitely taught me a lot and I do appreciate all of her help.”

She may also follow in her big sister’s footsteps by heading to Carnegie Mellon. She has applied to the esteemed school’s early decision process and hopes to play tennis, while studying either business or medicine.
