Blood drive Wednesday in Alliance

Alliance Community Hospital will host a blood drive at the American Legion on West Main Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Donors will receive a coupon for a free Perkins pie, and raffles for gift baskets and gift certificates from local businesses such as Dunkin Donuts, Monro Muffler and Brake, Anthony’s restaurant and Holiday Inn will be held hourly.

Historically, blood collections drop during the holiday season but the need for the Red Cross Northern Ohio Region to collect 900 pints daily remains constant.

Donors must be at 17, weigh no less than 110 pounds, and be in general good health. A photo ID or donor card must be presented at the time of the donation.
