Free help available for anyone over 60

Free help for those over 60 or who care for someone 60-plus will be discussed when Debbie Shurilla of Senior Independence speaks from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 11 at Pembrooke Place, 850 E. Midlothian Blvd.

The following will be discussed:

Applications for utility assistance: HEAP, PIPP, AT&T Lifeline, utility disconnection assistance referrals.

Advance directives: education and form completion for living wills and durable power of attorney for health care.

Medical coverage review: medical coverage options, Medicare Part D and Advantage plans, prescription assistance programs.

Support groups: Alzheimer’s Association and Caregivers Support Groups.

Any other questions: regarding community resources.
