assembly of god

Covenant Life Fellowship, 5900 W. Liberty St., Hubbard: Christmas Eve service is planned at 6:30 p.m. with communion, Scripture readings and special music and Christmas Day service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Catholic

Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 401 12th St., Campbell: Royal hours of Christmas will be at 9 a.m. Friday; Christmas Eve orthros at 8:30 a.m., Divine Liturgy at 9:30 and great vespers of Christmas and carols at 7 p.m.; Christmas Day orthros at 8:15 a.m. and Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at 10; Dec. 26, Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m.

Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., Warren: Christmas Eve vigil of the nativity with Masses set for 4 and 6 p.m. and participation by the special Christmas Eve family choir and at 11 p.m. with parish musicians joined by visitors and college students home for the holidays. Christmas Day liturgy will be at 10 a.m.

Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 N. Lakeview Ave., Youngstown: Christmas Eve carols will be at 8:30 p.m. and liturgy at 9 p.m. and Christmas Day carols at 9:15 a.m. and liturgy at 9:30 a.m.

National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson: Christmas Eve liturgy in the Maronite rite is scheduled at midnight and Christmas Day liturgy at 10 a.m.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna: Christmas Eve confessions are scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. and 10:30 to 11:30 p.m., followed by carols and blessing of the nativity scene. Westminster College Choir will sing at the midnight polyphonic Mass. Christmas Day low Masses will be at 8 and 11 a.m. with confession preceding.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin St., Youngstown: Christmas Eve Mass will be at 4 p.m. and Christmas Day Mass at 10:30 a.m.

St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, Youngstown: Christmas Eve Masses will be at 4 and 6 p.m. and Christmas Day, 9 and 11:30 a.m.

St. Mark’s Orthodox Church, 3560 Logan Way, Liberty: Christmas Eve matins are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. followed by Divine Liturgy at 8:15 p.m.

St. Matthias Church, 915 Cornell St., Youngstown: Christmas Eve carols will start at 3:45 p.m., vigil liturgy at 4 p.m. and carols at 11:30 p.m. followed by midnight liturgy. Christmas Day liturgy will be at noon.

St. Michael Catholic Church, 300 N. Broad St., Canfield: Christmas Eve Masses will be at 4, 7 and 10 p.m. and Christmas Day Mass at 10 a.m.

Harvest Point Church, 6100 Tod Ave., Lordstown: Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 6 p.m. and feature carols, the Christmas story and a candle-lighting ceremony.

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman: Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m.

episcopal

St. Augustine Episcopal Church, 614 Parmalee Ave., Youngstown: Christmas Eve service will be at 6 p.m.

St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman: Christmas Eve Eucharist will be at 8 p.m. and Christmas Day service at 11 a.m.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown: Family Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m.; children should arrive by 3:30 and meet in the main Sunday school classroom to pick an angel or shepherd costume. A later Christmas Eve service will be at 11 p.m. with Holy Eucharist and choir; prelude music at 10:30. Christmas Day service will be at 10 a.m.

interdenominational

First Federated Church, 10786 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson: A contemporary Christmas Eve service is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and traditional at 9 p.m. Christmas Day service will be at 10 a.m.

lutheran

Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman: Christmas Eve services will be at 4, 7 and 10 p.m. and Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.

Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman: Christmas Eve candlelight services will be at 4 p.m. and geared to families with children and feature the Leap of Faith praise team; 7:30 p.m. traditional service of carols, candles and commuinion featuring organ and choir; and 11 p.m. service with candles, carols and communion. The caroling and instrumental (intermediate level music) service will be at 11 a.m. Christmas Day with those interested in “playing for Him.”

Historic Lutheran Church of St. John, 1429 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown: Festive candlelight Eucharist is planned for the Christmas Eve service at 8 p.m. and lessons, carols, prayer and communion will highlight the Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield: Christmas Eve candelight service with Holy Communion will be at 5 p.m. with childcare available and 7:30 p.m. candlelight service with Holy Communion and special music by the sanctuary choir. Christmas Day service will be 9:30 a.m. with Holy Communion.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown: Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols will be at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day festival Eucharist at 10:30 a.m.

Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2985 Center Road, Poland: Christmas Eve candlelight service with Holy Communion at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day, Holy Communion at 10 a.m.

Zion Lutheran Church, 10857 Main St., New Middletown: Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. with readings, carols, Holy Communion and candle lighting and at 11 p.m. with Holy Communion and candle lighting.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima: Christmas Eve candle-lighting service at 5 p.m. and Christgmas Day service at 9:30 a.m.

methodist

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., Boardman: Christmas Eve children’s musical, “The Very Important Children’s Pageant,” will be presented at 5 p.m. with candle lighting in sanctuary; traditional worship at 9 p.m. with candle lighting in the sanctuary; and 11 p.m. service in the chapel with candlelighting and communion. Christmas Day worship is at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Road, Liberty: Christmas Eve family service led by the praise team at 7 p.m. and nursery for children and traditional service at 10 p.m. with choir and brass ensemble. Christmas Day service will be at 10 a.m.

Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St., Girard: Christmas Eve candlelight services will be at 4:30 with interactive children’s time and a 7 p.m. traditional service of carols, readings and the choir. “Silent Night” will be sung at both services. Christmas Day service is at 10:45 a.m. with no Sunday school.

Glenwood Christian Fellowship, (Primitive Methodist), 7872 Glenwood Ave., Boardman: Candlelight Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day services, 9 and 10:45 a.m.

Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. N.W., Warren: Christmas Eve candlelight worship will be at 6:30 p.m. and Christmas Day worship at 9:45 a.m.

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown: Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. featuring traditional Christmas carols and candle-lighting ceremony with music by the bell and chancel choirs and Glory Bound, praise team. Christmas Day caroling will be at 9:30 a.m. at Omni then worship at 10:45 a.m.

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles: Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day service at 11 a.m. with church school at 9:30.

Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Mineral Ridge Road, Mineral Ridge: Christmas Eve fellowship at 9 p.m. followed by candlelight worship at 10 p.m. with hospitality at 9 and Christmas Day worship at 9:45 a.m.

nondenominational

Calla Community Church, 6482 W. Calla Road, Canfield: Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 6:30 p.m.; a musical prelude by violinist John Vagas will start at 6.

Second Chance Community Outreach Ministry, 1747 S. Raccoon Road, Suite 1, Austintown: A candlelight Christmas Eve service is planned from 7 to 9 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. There will be a time of fellowship, prayer and Christmas music. Regular Sunday evening services will be Christmas Day with a brief message by Ron Shank, chaplain at Truckers 4 Jesus Truck Stop Ministry, and a time of worship in song.

First Christian Church of Malvern, 4046 Coral Road, Malvern: Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. with the choir presenting “God is With Us,” based on the classics.

Truckers 4 Jesus Truck Stop Ministry at the Petro Truck Stop, Weathersfield: Christmas Day regular service will be at 9 a.m. Light refreshments will be provided. The ministry is an outreach of the Steel Valley Baptist Association.

Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty: Candle-lighting service and carol sing is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday with minister Ric Schumacher.

Butler Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Rayen Ave., Youngstown: A candlelight Christmas Eve service will be at 4:30 p.m.

Christ Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road, Youngstown: A candlelight Christmas Eve service is scheduled for 7 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., Youngstown: Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7:30 p.m.; Christmas Day service with communion at 11 a.m; and 12th Night/Epiphany service at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5.

First Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St., East Palestine: Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m. followed by birthday party for Jesus.

First Presbyterian Church, 890 Churchill Road, Girard: Christmas Eve service at 8 p.m. will feature Scripture, carols and candles and Christmas Day informal worship with breakfast at 11 a.m.

First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge: Christmas Eve candlelight services will be at 5:30 with special music by Raelyn Crump and 11 p.m. with special music by Larry Harris, Rosemary Menghetti and Pam Root.

Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 3919 Southern Blvd., Youngstown: Christmas Eve service will be at 5:30 p.m. and an informal Christmas Day service at 11 a.m.

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman: Christmas Eve candlelight family service will be at 7 p.m. with children and youth pageant and candlelight service at 10 p.m. with adult choir and communion. Christmas Day service will at 10:30 a.m.

Spiritualist

Spiritual Path Church, 2041 Moravia St. Ext, New Castle, Pa.: A candlelight service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Christmas Eve on the theme, “Sitting in the Power of Angels.” Refreshments and fellowship will follow.

unitarian universalist

First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown: Christmas Eve multi-generational service will be at 7 p.m. with a “carol shout” and birth stories in Christian and non-Christian traditions, music with pianist Marcellene Hawk and flutist Jennifer Banks and carols by candelight. Childcare available in the nursery and refreshments will follow the service. Christmas Day meditations at 11 a.m. service featuring selections from Oliver Messiaen’s “Twenty Contemplations on the Infant Jesus.”
