Township trustees are seeking applicants for appointment to the Zoning Appeals Board and Zoning Commission Board, and an alternate for each board. Individuals interested must reside in the unincorporated area of Poland Township and should mail or deliver a letter of interest and statement of qualifications to the Poland Township Trustees, 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, OH 44514 on or before Dec. 29.
Trees for sale
NEW MIDDLETOWN
The Springfield Township Station 21 Firefighters Association will be selling Christmas trees from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The sale will be at the fire station at 10720 Struthers Road. All sales benefit the fire association.
Suspects charged with felony theft

Two women accused of shoplifting at the Express clothing store in Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St., also are suspects in criminal activity in Beechwood.
Tina M. Fizet, 35, of Youngstown, was charged with felony theft Wednesday. She also was arrested on probation violation warrant from Niles police. Kimberly M. Slipski, 35, of Berlin Center, was charged with misdemeanor theft.
A mall security guard told police he watched the women hide jewelry in a shopping bag and in their clothes about 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
The jewelry was valued at about $2,500, and the two women are suspects in the returning of stolen jewelry to an Express store in Beechwood.
