Canfield swimmers sweep rival Poland

The Canfield girls and boys swim teams defeated Poland on Dec. 7 at Youngstown State University.

The girls beat Poland 101-77.

Sarah Heaven placed first in the 100-yard backstroke, as well as the 100-yard free.

Heaven, along with Olivia Williamson, Mallory Allen and Jamie Wellham, was also part of the 200-yard medley relay that took first place.

Allen, Heaven, Williamson and Leslie Davis also placed first in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Williamson took first in two more events, including the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Briana O’Malley placed first in the 100-yard fly. Ally Chiu took first in the diving competition.

The Canfield boys team defeated Poland 131-30.

Leading the Cardinals was Connor Brady, who placed first in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard fly.

Brady, along with Mark Dalvin, Nicky Montalto, Michael DiDomenico, was part of the 200-yard medley relay that placed first. Brady, Mike Cardone, DiDomenico and Bogen also won in the 400-yard free relay.

Bogen was another leading scorer for the Cardinals, placing first in the 100-yard free and the 200-yard free. Bogen, along with Adam Weiss, Jake Smith and Nicky Montalto, took first in the 200-yard free relay.

Mark Dalvin won the 50-yard free.

Kyle Anderson placed first in the 500-yard free and Nicky Montalto took first in the 100-yard breaststroke.

DiDomenico took first in the 200-yard individual medley.
