Big bucks spent on SB5 repeal effort
COLUMBUS — The two sides of the heated Senate Bill 5 campaign spent a combined $40 million-plus convincing on Issue 2 last month.
We Are Ohio, the union-backed group and main opponent of the statewide issue, spent about three times as much Building a Better Ohio, the main Issue 2 proponent group.
According to post-election campaign finance reports filed with the secretary of state’s office Friday, We Are Ohio added cash contributions of about $5.8 million and in-kind contributions of nearly that much during the reporting period.
