Fitch boys fall 84-81 in triple overtime

The Fitch boys varsity basketball team lost 84-81 in triple overtime to Alliance on Dec. 6.

Leading the way for the Falcons was Will Mahone with a game-high 37 points. Mahone scored 13 of his points in the overtime sessions.

Nate Blair drew four charges as he played an outstanding defensive game. Nick Williams was 3-for-4 from the field, Dan Chepke scored 11 points and sophomore Alex DiFrancesco added 10 points and five rebounds.

Fitch bowlers win AAC season opener

The Fitch boys and girls bowling teams opened All-American Conference play by defeating Howland.

The girls squad earned a 2,258-1,903 victory over the Lady Tigers. Katie Viglio led the Falcons with a 460 series and team-high games of 222 and 238. Molly Custer rolled a 193 and Jessica Halas added a 185.

Kyle Condrick rolled games of 230 and 237 for a 467 series to spark the boys to a 2,563-2,123 win over Howland.

Chris Mauro added games of 211 and 217 (428 series) and John Greenlund had a 209 (371).

AMS Red wrestlers win Duals tournament

The AMS Red wrestling team won the team title at the Twinsburg Tiger Duals on Dec. 3, by winning three matches and tying one.

The Falcons defeated Kenston (48-38), Stow (50-38) and Twinsburg (47-32). Austintown wrestled Shaker Heights to a 42-42 tie.
