W. Pa. mom shot in face in attack at her home

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A young mother has been hospitalized with a bullet wound to her face after police say someone riddled her southwestern Pennsylvania home with bullet that missed her boyfriend and young child.

Police in Uniontown aren’t naming the victim who was shot inside her apartment about 1 a.m. today.

The woman’s boyfriend tells police he heard a knock on the door and when he went to answer it, someone shot at him and through the apartment’s front window. Police say two bullets passed through the man’s pants legs, but he was not wounded.

The man grabbed the woman’s son and ran toward the back of the apartment, while the woman was struck by one of the bullets fired through the window.

Police haven’t arrested anyone.
