‘Miracle on Easy Street’ is back in all its glory

YOUNGSTOWN

Easy Street Productions is headed back to Powers Auditorium this weekend to present its annual Christmas spectacular, “Miracle on Easy Street.”

The show, which features choreographed musical numbers and more than a hundred costumed dancers and singers, is in its 24th year. Many changes — new songs and segments — have been made over the years, but the revue’s dazzle and spirit remain a constant.

Easy Street co-founders Maureen Collins and Todd Hancock once again will host the show. Musical director Jeff Sanders also will return with an expanded Easy Street Little Big Band, blending the season’s most popular tunes, both old and new.

Dancers from studios throughout the Mahoning Valley will perform routines by Renee Rogers in a variety of styles — tap, jazz and hip-hop — taught by the show’s choreographer, Megan Cleland.

Returning to this year’s “Miracle” cast are regulars James McClellan, Colleen Chance, Katy Collins, Candace Campana, Layla Harrison, Gina Martini and Rosie Jo Neddy. Newcomers include Easy Street alumni and siblings Eric McClellan and Janeen Williams.

Easy Street’s Christmas music CD “Believe in Miracles; The Best of Miracle on Easy Street” will be available at all performances and features more than 20 seasonal favorites. The disc includes past favorites and new arrangements. It also can be purchased online at easystreetshows.com.
