Development course planned by YBPWC

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Business and Professional Women’s Club recently launched the first local version of the Business and Professional Women’s Individual Development Program at the Upstairs Lounge in Austintown.

Guest speaker Daneene Monroe Rusnak of Cleveland shared her winning speech that was presented at the program’s Ohio level competition.

The program began in the 1960s to meet the needs of women during that era after it was determined that public speaking, leadership and presentation skills would help women in their careers.

Local program classes will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. starting Jan. 4 at the Choffin Career and Technical Center, 200 E. Wood St.

The four-session course requires 15 to 16 hours of training and presentation time. Topics include public speaking, interviewing, networking, media training and communication skills.

There will be various instructors with expertise in each module.

The cost is $50 and is open to the public.
