Valley home sales rise, prices paid drop

Mahoning Valley home sales increased overall in November, according to statistics from the Youngstown-Columbiana Association of Realtors, but the price paid for those homes once again has decreased.

Overall, there were 322 home sales in the tri-county area in November, up from 278 during the same month in 2010.

There were 160 homes sold in Mahoning County in November, up from 136 during the same month last year.

In Trumbull County, home sales jumped from 90 in November 2010 to 114 this November.

Home sales in Columbiana County fell from 52 to 48.

In Mahoning County, the average home price fell from $92,491 to $82,053 this year. In Trumbull, the average rose from $67,532 to $79,541.

The average selling price in Columbiana County increased from $88,323 in November 2010 to $92,482 this November.
