A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Nov. 24

Harassment: A South Broad Street woman reported receiving “nonstop” phone calls from her husband. They are divorcing.

Nov. 26

Aggravated menacing: A Lisbon Street woman received phone calls from a man saying if she gave him $2,500 he would give her $1.5 million. Attempts to call back the man by police were unsuccessful because the number came back as nonworking. Police advised the woman the transaction was fraud, and not to give the man any money.

Dec. 4

Warrant: Police arrested Richard Fox III, 32, of 1431 N. State Route 45, North Jackson, on an unspecified warrant from the Mahoning County Sheriff Department during a traffic stop at North Broad Street.

Dec. 6

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged Roger Geiser, 18, of 171 Dartmouth Drive, with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a silver socket containing suspected marijuana residue at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive.

Dec. 7

Falsification: Police charged Clayton Channing, 24, of 8385 Pinehill Drive, Poland, and Michael Ramun, 28, of 8187 North Lima Road, Poland, with falsification after a traffic stop near Chase Bank, 34 N. Broad St.

Threatening call: A Warren woman employed as a caretaker to a East Main Street patient reported receiving threatening phone calls from the patient’s sister.

Dec. 8

Trespassing: Police charged Michael Lucyk, 53, of 11172 Detwiler Road, Columbiana, with trespassing at a home in the 300 block of South Broad Street.

AUSTINTOWN

Dec. 5

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Robert Hollobaugh, 40, of 427 High Ave., Niles, for drug abuse of marijuana at Club 76, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: A black Sapient bicycle was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Bainbridge Street.

Counterfeit currency: Counterfeit $10 bills were passed at the Economy Inn, 1051 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Breaking and entering: Police charged Scott Moretti, 42, of 5111 E. Viola Road, Austintown, with breaking and entering and Timothy Howard, 39, of 660 N. Four Mile Run Road, for breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools after a breaking-in at the former Jalco, 534 N. Meridian Road.

Fraud: An unauthorized charge was made to a bank account at a home in the 500 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Breaking and entering: A garage was broken into in the 200 block of Carnegie Avenue and a nail gun and wire were taken.

Theft: A ladder was stolen from the Economy Inn, 1051 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Dec. 6

Fraud: A total of $988 in unauthorized charges were made to a bank account at home in the 2000 block of Whispering Pines.

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Julie Lay, 38, of 549 Evergreen Ave., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing in the parking lot at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipes were taken from a home along with other items in the 10 block of Howard Avenue.

Theft: A 2003 box trailer was stolen from the parking lot at Ohio Gymnastics, 5701 W. Webb Road.

Menacing: A 15-year-old female threatened a 17-year-old female in a dispute over a boy at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Aggravated robbery: Miscellaneous items were stolen from a Pontiac Grand Am in the parking lot of the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive. The owner of the car found a man in the driver’s seat of his car, and when the man fled, the owner gave chase but was stopped when the man pointed his hand in his pocket at him and threatened he had a gun.

Dec. 7

Warrant: James Durkin, 44, of 5202 Oakcrest Ave., was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Theft: Cash was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Lanterman Road.

Theft: Two males stole a PSP Playstation at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A total of $7,000 was withdrawn from a victim’s account at Briarfield at Ashley Circle, 5291 Ashley Circle.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from a truck driver while he was sleeping at the TA Travel Center.

Theft: Bedding was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Kerrybrook Drive.

Burglary: A flat-screen television was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Dec. 8

Aggravated menacing: A female threatened to have the victim’s legs broken at an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A wallet was taken from a truck while the driver slept at Club 76.

Domestic violence: A juvenile male was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center for domestic violence at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: Fifty gallons of diesel fuel was stolen from an auto at Fuel Mart, 5301 Seventy-Six Drive.

Burglary: Computers, jewelry and gift cards were stolen from an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West.

Robbery: Police charged Richard Macklin, 18, of 88 E. Chalmers Ave., Youngstown, with robbery for a purse snatching at Trax Lounge, 4250 New Road.

Theft: Truck brake drums were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Brian Bees, Jr., 24, of 496 S. Raccoon Road, No. F37, on a warrant for theft.

Theft: Fuel was stolen from an auto at Fuel Mart, 5301 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: A UPS delivery was taken from a front porch at a home in the 6000 block of Ridgeview Drive.

Drug offense: Jaycen Leapline, 33, of 57 Morningside Drive, Niles was issued a summons for possession of a bulk amount of marijuana.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Benjamin Diaz, 30, of 4336 Helena Ave., Youngstown, for drug abuse of marijuana.

Dec.9

Assault: A female was choked by a female neighbor at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Police charged George Thompson III, 18, of 146 N. Main St., with theft and possession of criminal tools, and on warrants for drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, and Tamron Smith Jr., 21, of 1005 Compass West, No. 12, for theft and possession of criminal tools after a theft from an auto in the 80 block of North Raccoon Road.

Theft: A debit card was taken from a home in the 3000 block of Lanterman Road.

Attempted burglary: Damage to a door frame was reported at a home in the 5000 block of Vassar Avenue.

Theft: A vehicle shroud was stolen from an auto at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card at a home in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Possible forgery: A male suspect attempted to cash a $1,400 check at Farmer’s National Bank, 22 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Fraud: A victim applied for a loan and sent in six months worth of payments, but never received the loan at a home in the 10 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Eric Pyatt, 21, of 4520 E. Webb Road, for theft of an 88-cent container of pills at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was shot by a BB gun at Silica Road near Victoria Road.

Dec. 10

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Kory Rodriguez, 23, of 158 S. Osborn Ave., Youngstown, for drug abuse of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Theft: An unlocked vehicle was entered and a checkbook, boots and other items were taken at the Babylon, 114 Javitt Court.

Telecommunications harassment: A suspect is accused in telecommunications harassment at a home in the 3000 block of New Road.

Theft: A plastic baby Jesus was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.

Assault: A man was assaulted by a woman and an unknown male at a home in the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Longino Roman Jr., 30, of 4474 W. Oakland Ave., Newton Falls, on a warrant for failure to appear on an aggravated menacing charge.

Drug offense: Police issued Ryan Lowe,22, of 500 Murray Hill, Liberty, a summons for drug abuse of marijuana.

Dec. 11

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Nicholas Monrean, 22, of 1330 Francis, Warren, for drug abuse of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and to Kara Lightner, 19, of 213 E. Main St., Cortland, for drug abuse of marijuana.

Recovered property: A Ruger .380 with a holster and a loaded magazine was recovered at Buffalo Wild Wings, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A basement window and two screens were damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.

Theft: Two penguin figures were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Theft: A total of $700 was stolen from a wallet at a home in the 4000 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Weapons: A 9mm was accidentally discharged and fired through a neighbor’s living-room wall, photo and couch in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: Police charged Sean Peterson, 22, of 403 Cherry St., Kent, with the theft of a $99.98 cellphone at Walmart.
