Man reports robbery

WARREN

A 24-year-old Bazetta Township man reported that a male got into his car at the corner of Elm Road and Dana Street and robbed him at gunpoint.

The suspect grabbed the steering wheel at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and forced the driver to turn onto Elm Road and then into a driveway. Then the suspect pulled the gun and demanded money, he told police.

The two fought, resulting in the victim being hit in the head, leg and back with the gun. The victim said he ran and heard gunshots, but the suspect didn’t get his cash.

Police said the victim had scrapes and bruises, and police found a spent shell casing. A neighbor described seeing a man running behind a nearby house and jumping into a maroon sport-utility vehicle and driving away.
