Pair gets life sentences in 2009 Pa. stabbing

STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Two Pennsylvania men have been formally ordered to spend life in prison in a fatal 2009 stabbing.

Twenty-one-year-old Shawn Freemore and 19-year-old Ian Seagraves were sentenced today to life without parole in the February 2009 death of 21-year-old Michael Goucher.

According to testimony at trial, Freemore said he’d met Goucher for sex the previous month. Authorities say Goucher was going to meet Freemore a second time when he disappeared.

Goucher’s body was found stabbed 45 times. Authorities say Freemore and Seagraves lured Goucher to a wooded area and robbed and killed him.

The Cresco, Pa., men received additional sentences for criminal conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence.

Freemore apologized to Goucher’s mother after sentencing.
