Coroner IDs two killed in Mahoning County accident Sunday

GREEN — The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office today identified two people killed in a car accident Sunday in the western part of the county.

Michael R. Walter, 34, of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Carie Ann Harris, 33, of Columbiana were killed when the car they were in failed to properly yield on state Route 45 at state Route 165 in Green Township and was hit by a tractor-trailer sending the car into a ditch.

Walter and Harris were both wearing safety belts at the time of the accident.

The truck driver sustained minor injuries from the accident.
