Najee, Bugnon at jazz festival

The HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley has partnered with Jerry L. Costa for the 2012 Youngstown Jazz Festival. Scheduled to perform at the summer event are Grammy Award- winning artists Najee and Alex Bugnon, plus three regional acts.
Saxon Club plans New Year’s party
AUSTINTOWN
The Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31. Doors open at 7 p.m. and a buffet dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. with beer, soda, coffee and tea. This is a bring-your-own-bottle event. There will also be a buffet at midnight with a champagne toast. Music will be provided by Guys Without Ties.
Tickets are $30 and the event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the club or by calling 330-509-9670.
History of Santa exhibit at museum
WARREN
The Sutliff Museum’s current display offers a history of Santa Claus.
Figurines created by California artist Max Duncan depict some of the earliest visions of Santa, as well as more recent characterizations — including “Santa Pop,” who is carrying a bottle of soda.
The exhibit will be up through December 30 and is open to the public from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, except Dec. 24.
The Sutliff Museum is on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Library and is handicapped accessible. Admission is free.
