Space heater causes fire that destroys Campbell family’s home
Staff report
Campbell
An upstairs bedroom space heater started a fire that destroyed a family of seven’s home Sunday.
Capt. Gene Skelley from the city fire department said the natural gas had been cut off to the home on 112 Regent St., and the family was relying on space heaters to keep their house warm.
The fire started at about noon, and Poland, Struthers and Coitsville fire departments were called to assist Campbell in controlling the blaze, Skelley said.
No one was injured in the fire.
The Red Cross is taking care of the family.
