SENIOR CITIZENS


1418 Auxiliary Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Great Hall at St. Nicholas Church on Fifth Street in Struthers. John Texter will preside. AARP Chapter 4611 will meet at noon Wednesday at Monteen’s Southern Cuisine, Belmont Avenue, for the annual Christmas luncheon and gift exchange. October, November and December birthdays will be observed. Members are to take nonperishable food items for the food basket. There will be a 50-50 raffle. Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet for the annual Christmas party at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Church, 3560 Logan Way. December birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged. After dinner, prizes will be awarded and entertainment will begin.

Golden Pillars will meet for a liturgy at 11 a.m. Tuesday before the monthly meeting at noon at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave. Mary Novak will preside. All members are collecting canned goods, food staples and monetary donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Take donations to the meeting. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and cards and bingo will be played. Members are to take their own place settings for the luncheon.

J.C. Penney Retirees will meet for their annual Christmas luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Denny’s in Boardman.

Liberty 55-Plus Seniors will have a Christmas party at 1 p.m. Thursday at West Fork Restaurant, Belmont Avenue, Liberty. Kay Herberger will preside, and Leanne Martyak and Marjorie Reynolds will serve as hostesses. There will be a 50-50 raffle, and December birthdays will be acknowledged.

Local 2243 U.S.W.A. Copperweld Steel Retirees (S.O.A.R. Chapter 1-28-10) will have their annual Christmas party at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Inn, 510 E. Market St., Warren. The cost for members is $5, and nonmembers pay $10.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Barbara Burnside will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seniors will have an annual Christmas party Wednesday after the noon Mass. Anyone wishing to attend must call John Mascardine or Carmel Colaizzi for reservations.

Sears Friendship Club will meet at noon Monday at Johnny’s Restaurant in Boardman for its annual Christmas party.

St. Anthony Senior Club will meet Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Members may order from the menu or choose the luncheon buffet on an individual check arrangement. The next meeting is scheduled for March 13, 2012, at Faini Memorial Hall.

St. Brendan 60-Plus Senior Citizens will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday in Maxwell Hall for their annual Christmas party. Officers Ann Smith, Dorothy Procik and Dorothy LoSasso will preside. St. Christine Seniors will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road, for the annual Christmas party. Lunch, by reservation only, will begin at noon. No tickets will be sold at the door. Included in the afternoon will be a 50-50 raffle, door prizes and games.

Sunshine Seniors will meet at noon Dec. 20 at the Byzantine Center for a Christmas party. Betty Jean Fehrenbaugh will preside.
