Gaga gives a naughty, nice concert in NYC
NEW YORK
Lady Gaga was in the Christmas spirit at Z100’s annual Jingle Ball concert, but her version of “White Christmas” would have made Bing Crosby blush.
Gaga performed a slightly naughty rendition of the holiday classic Friday night as part of her mini-concert at the radio station’s event at Madison Square Garden. Gaga — sporting tight studded leather pants, bare midriff and a matching top — gyrated on a set that included antlers, Christmas trees and holiday lights.
She also performed hits like “Born This Way” and “Telephone,” and remarked how as a young girl growing up in New York City, Jingle Ball was her first concert.
Del Toro’s directorial debut shows in Cuba
HAVANA
Benicio del Toro says the artistic collaboration that went into his directorial debut in the movie “Seven Days in Havana” was so gratifying that he plans to keep working behind the camera.
The Puerto Rican actor says working with actors and others “motivates me to dream of trying it again.”
“Seven Days” is made up of seven shorts that take place on different days of the week and show different visions of Cuban society.
Del Toro directed the first short: “The Yuma,” Cuban slang for “The American.”
It stars Josh Hutcherson and tells the story of a young American who travels to Havana for the city’s annual film festival, where “Seven Days” has been screening this week.
Del Toro spoke Friday evening at a news conference in Havana.
