Inventors meeting slated for Dec. 14

The Youngstown & Warren Inventors Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Township Administration Building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

The speaker will be Bob Jadloski, president and CEO of Niles-based iDK Green Technologies. Jadloski will give a presentation on the fuel-saver cell he has developed for use on gasoline or diesel cars, trucks and other vehicles to reduce their toxic fuel emissions, increase fuel economy and to create new jobs from this emerging technology.

The meeting is open to the public, and there is no charge.

Regional chamber sets 2012 tours

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has scheduled two group tours for 2012.

A trip to Cuba is scheduled from June 28 to July 6 and costs $3,299 per person based on double occupancy. The trip will include visits to Old Havana, Cathedral de la Havana, Museo Fine Arts and more. The trip includes round-trip air fare from Miami, Fla., eight nights in hotels, 19 meals and professional drivers and guides.

Two informational meetings are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 26 at Holiday Inn Boardman, 7410 South Ave., and Feb. 6 at Leo’s Ristorante, 7402 East Market St., Warren.

A European trip is scheduled for Oct. 31 and includes four nights in Berlin and three nights in Prague. The cost is $2,499 per person based on double occupancy and includes trips to Vienna, Terezin Concentration Camp, Saint Vitas Cathedral, seven nights in hotels, round-trip air fare from Pittsburgh, nine meals and a professional tour director.

Giant Eagle app

PITTSBURGH

Giant Eagle has announced a new smartphone application for Android phones. The app allows customers to create shopping lists, find Giant Eagle locations and receive special electronic offers.

Giant Eagle also announced an upgraded app for the iPhone. Apps are available in the Android Market or in the Apple Inc. App store.

Tanfastic under new ownership

Tanfastic Tanning Salon, 813 Boardman-Poland Road, is under new ownership of George and Jennifer Dimos.

The business will celebrate the news with an open house shortly after 9 a.m. Dec. 13. Tanfastic offers a variety of tanning features.
