Freshman Nate Jacubec (Struthers) scored 17 points in the Purple Raiders’ loss after they surrendered a nine-point halftime lead. The Purple Raiders (3-5, 0-3 Ohio Athletic Conference) tied the game with 56 seconds remaining before Capital scored the final six points. Senior Jimmy Wood scored 14 points in the opening frame as the Raiders took a 41-32 lead into halftime. But a 24-14 run to open the second half gave the Crusaders their first lead of the game with 7:20 to play. Mount Union evened the score on a Jacubec three-pointer with 1:28 remaining. Wood led all scorers with 19 points and tied senior Matt Wier for a team-best six rebounds. Capital (4-4, 2-2 OAC) had a balanced offense, led by 15 points for Spencer Niekamp.
Washington & Jefferson 65, Westminster 63
WASHINGTON, PA.
The Titans (2-6, 1-3) trailed for only 68 seconds. The Presidents (4-5, 1-2 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) took the lead on the final second on Andy Carter’s baseline jumper. Junior forward Adam Carswell led Westminster with a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth career double-double and his second of the season. Freshman guard Ben Donlow (Poland) also turned in a double-double as he bucketed 18 points to go with 10 rebounds. Donlow was 6-11 from the field and he handed out three assists. The other Titan to score in double figures was sophomore guard Doug Smith with 13 points. Carter led W&J with 19 points to go with seven rebounds.
Thiel 86, Saint Vincent 69
GREENVILLE, PA.
Chace McKinney (Boardman/Kennedy Catholic) scored a career-best 21 points for the Tomcats (6-2, 4-0). McKinney scored on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor and a 7-of-7 from the foul line. He added five rebounds and a pair of blocks. Ladell Trotty added 15 points and five assists while Blair Rozenblad (Youngstown/Kennedy Catholic) chipped in with 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Dennis Bassich finished with 16 points, three assists, and two rebounds to lead Saint Vincent (5-3, 1-2).
Geneva 64, Grove City 60
GROVE CITY, PA.
Grove City (4-4, 1-3 PAC) forced Geneva into 26 turnovers but Geneva shot 50 percent (22 for 44) from the field, including a 15-for-23 (65 percent) effort in the second half. Senior center Kris Verderber led Grove City with 12 points while freshman guard J.T. Schwartz added 11 points. Dave Phillips led Geneva (3-6, 2-2 PAC) with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Westminster 65, Washington & Jefferson 49
WASHINGTON, PA.
Sophomore guard Gabby Holko tied a Westminster school record for 3-pointers in a game with six. Holko finished with 18 points. Senior forward Emily Dolsak (McDonald) scored 15 points to go with a team-high seven rebounds for the Titans (1-7, 1-3 PAC). Katie Hughes (Cardinal Mooney) added 11 points and six rebounds. Ashley Kirkpatrick and Courtney Walsh led W&J (3-5, 1-3) with 10 points apiece.
Grove City 48, Geneva 36
GROVE CITY, PA.
Grove City (2-6, 1-3 PAC) held Geneva (1-7, 0-4) without a field goal for the final 7:22 and sealed the victory with an 8-0 run. Junior guard Leah Gibson ignited the run with back-to-back lay-ups and freshman forward Kelsey Whaley followed with a layup. Freshman guard Kelsey Shirey capped the spurt by hitting two free throws with 21 seconds left. Gibson led all scorers with 23 points and Shirey added 11 for the Wolverines.
Saint Vincent 79, Thiel 66
GREENVILLE, PA.
With 19 points, Elle Collins led the Bearcats (7-1, 4-0 PAC) to their fourth straight league win. Thiel (2-7, 2-2) received strong performances by Kelly Barzak (Howland) and Kelly Muffley. Barzak totaled 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Muffley also finished with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. Rianne Thornton added 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the loss.
Mount Union 79, Capital 73
ALLIANCE
Mount Union (7-1, 2-1 OAC) got a season-high 20 points from junior point Rosa LaMattina. Senior Kori Wiedt contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Erin Schmidt added a career-high 12 points.
