Brown helps lift YCS past Campbell

YOUNGSTOWN

Toi Brown collected 15 rebounds and 12 points for the Youngstown Christian High girls basketball team, which defeated Campbell 31-23

Destinee Snyder netted seven points, while (4-2). Shanell Harris had five points and Natalie Hoelzel scored four points to go with eight boards.

Isabella Espada had eight points for Campbell (0-3), which led 17-15 at halftime, but scored just one point in the third quarter.

Massillon Perry 50, Boardman 44

MASSILLON

Marwah Hmeidan scored 18 points to propel the Panthers to their first Federal League win.

Kaitlyn Bucksar netted eight points for Perry (2-3, 1-1).

For the Spartans (1-3, 0-3), Emily Gibbs scored 16 points. Megan Volosin contributed 11 and Kelly Tomcsanyi nine.

Salem 39, Canton South 36

SALEM

Megan Lehwald led the Quakers with 14 points while Lindsey Foster scored 11 points and made 19 rebounds and six blocks.

Tori Jones had eight rebounds, four points and three steals. For Canton South, Joelle Martin scored 16 points.

LaBrae 49, Southington 43

Ashlee Stubbs scored 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Vikings.

For the Wildcats, Abby Pate scored 29 points.

Shaker Heights 68, Warren Harding 61

SHAKER HEIGHTS

Briana McCurdy led Harding with 21 points and six assists in the losing effort.

Anita Brown added 19 points and Audreyanna Baldridge had 11.

Shaker Heights shot 25-of-29 from the free throw line.

A 27-point fourth quarter performance wasn’t enough to fuel a Raider comeback.

West Branch 56, Louisville 41

Melinda Trimmer scored 16 points and made five assists for the Warriors (3-0, 3-0 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).

Rebekah Zets scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.

For the Leopards (3-1, 1-1), Bri Liburtorio scored 21 points while Mackenzie Storlie had 10 points and six rebounds.
