Miss Cinderella was crowned at the 56th Annual Cinderella Ball at an elegant affair Nov. 25 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. The Junior Civic League had its 56th Annual Cinderella Ball on Nov. 25 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, where 15 debutantes from area high schools made their appearance with their escorts.

The Cinderella Ball Court follows:

Ayana Durden: Miss Cinderella, of Liberty High School

Janae Ward: First Attendant, Chaney High School

Briana Curd: Second Attendant, Ursuline High School

Attending the elegant event were more than 750 people, who witnessed the crowning of Durden as Miss Cinderella. She is the daughter of Nicole Durden and Anthony Durden and is a member of Third Baptist Church, Youngstown. She plans to attend the University of Toledo and major in pharmacy.

Other debutantes follow: Khadijah Bonner and Morgan Newell, both of Campbell Memorial High School; Taylor Burkley of Youngstown Christian; Arielle Green, Jai’Leei Letlow and Bryana Morgan of Austintown Fitch; Tiara Harrison of Liberty; Destiny Hughes and Brittney Ingram of Youngstown Early College; Courtney Powell of Ursuline; and Khadijah Jenkins and Shaunelle Yancey of Chaney.

The escorts were Jantz Clinkscale, Anthony Durden, Rickey Evans Jr., Dominic Gore and Josh Rivers of Liberty; Danny Campbell of Youngstown Christian; Jesse Hardin Jr. of Warren G. Harding; Joshua Davis and Jason Whitehead of Ursuline; Aaron Paige and Ricki Williams of East; Christian Davis, Emmet Conner and Michael Cotton of Chaney; William Mahone of Fitch and Aaron Mahdee of Hubbard.

All proceeds from the Cinderella Ball are used for scholarships in the Mahoning Valley.

Miss Cinderella will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship in June 2012 at the annual Junior Civic League Scholarship Luncheon.

The first attendant will receive an $1,800 scholarship, and the second attendant, a $1,500 scholarship.
