Swastika drawn on salon

An Ohio hair salon owner says she cried when she found a swastika on the door of her business.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports that police are investigating the graffiti as a possible hate crime. Owner Bobbi Smith, of Akron’s A Beautiful You Hair Salon, is black. Her clients are people of all races.

The 2-inch swastika was drawn with a black marker at eye level on the glass door. The vandalism was done after the beauty shop closed Monday.

Akron police Lt. Rick Edwards says investigators take these sorts of things seriously.

The salon is in a complex that includes businesses and apartments. The complex management company informed tenants of the graffiti and said in its note that it does not tolerate any such behavior.
