Students make ornaments from reused materials
More than 417 ornaments from 16 Mahoning County school classrooms entered the Green Team’s ornament contest for all students in Mahoning County.
The students made ornaments from reused and recycled material and sent them to the Green Team office. Each class that submitted ornaments was entered into a drawing for a bird feeder made from recycled plastic.
Schools entering the competition included Campbell Memorial High School, Canfield Village Middle School, MCCTC, St. Nicholas School, Struthers High School, Poland Middle School and Poland Dobbins, North and McKinley Elementary Schools.
Ruth Metzger from Poland North Elementary School had the winning collection and the ornaments will be displayed on a tree near the entrance to Fellows Riverside Gardens and on trees at Oak Hill Renaissance Place, where the Green Team office is located.
