Dog and kennel licenses for 2012 have gone on sale through the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office.

Ohio law requires licenses for all dogs over 3 months of age, and the annual licensing deadline is Jan. 31.

The $15 dog tags and $75 kennel tags may be purchased by mail or online, or at the county auditor’s office or dog pound, certain motor- vehicle licensing bureaus, and some retail establishments.

Fees double and court citations may be issued after Jan. 31.

Those registering for a kennel license must also buy a vendor’s license from the auditor’s office.

All checks should be made payable to the Mahoning County Treasurer and mailed to the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office, c/o dog licenses, 120 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44503.
