Lowellville’s Hvisdak reaches milestone

Taylor Hvisdak had a banner night as she scored 19 points to go over 1,000 for her career, helping the Lowellvile High girls basketball team defeat McDonald 62-38 on Thursday.
Emily Carlson had 13 points to go with seven steals and Kaye Solak helped with 12 points for the Rockets (2-0. Taylor Stanley led McDonald with 11 points.
Jackson Milton 52, Sebring 37

Maggie Oblinger dropped 16 points while creating five steals for the BlueJays (3-1). Paije Kiraly had eight points and eight rebounds, as Brittany Schnellenbach added seven points. Kayla Maretich hit four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points for Sebring (1-2).
Crestview 51, Columbiana 34
COLUMBIANA
Crestview’s 14-0 start after eight minutes set the stage for the outcome. Ashley Harrison’s 14 points and four assists, Marissa Leon’s nine rebounds and Gerie Sickle’s four steals led the Lady Rebels (4-1). Khylea Fullum’s 10 points paced the Clippers (1-3).
Western Reserve 46, Leetonia 31
LEETONIA
Kennehan and Mamonis had 12 points apiece and Mowery added 10 for Western Reserve, which, following an 8-8 deadlocked first quarter, outscored the Bears in the second quarter, 14-9.
Kinzie Smith’s nine points paced Leetonia (0-4), which suffered 31 turnovers.
United 80, East Palestine 38
HANOVERTON
Cassidy Yoder’s 20 points were a game-high for United. Taylor Smith added 17 and Emily Zehentbauer had 16. Seven others figured into the scoring.
A 31-point first quarter helped get the Golden Eagles an early lead.
Lisbon 48, Mineral Ridge 28
MINERAL RIDGE
Pam Pierce’s 18 points led Lisbon as Tiffany Ketchum added 10. Sarah Boyd hit a 3-pointer and Cami Jackson was a perfect 5-for-5 from the line.
Abby Riffee and Peyton Allen had nine and eight points, respectively, for Mineral Ridge.
South Range 48, Springfield 47

Lexi Naples had a game-high 19 points, 13 of which came at the foul line where she attempted 16 free throws for South Range (2-2).
Naples also had five assists, four rebounds and three steals, while Kristin Robinson grabbed six rebounds for the winners.
Baylee Felger’s 17 points and seven rebounds led Springfield, while Brooke Schrieber added 13 points for the Tigers (0-3).
