Honors add up for mathematicians
More than 160 students from Mahoning County competed in the Mahoning County Math 24 Challenge at Youngstown Christian High School Nov. 17.
The tournament is open to any student in Mahoning County in grades four through eight.
Sixteen players earned trophies at the county tournament and qualified to compete against trophy winners from Trumbull County in the Regional Math 24 competition, Jan. 19 at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.
The regional competition returns this year after a several-year absence, thanks to a large donation from Time Warner Cable. Winners in each division of the Mahoning County tournament include:
