Gresko performed in concert
Rachel Gresko, a sophomore pharmacy major, performed in the University of Findlay’s Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble concert, “T’was The Night Before Christmas” on Dec. 4 in the Herminger Auditorium at Findlay High School.
Gresko is a 2010 graduate of Boardman High School. She is the daughter of Diane and Robert Gresko of Boardman.
Barth elected president of student organization
Benjamin Barth, a junior pharmacy major, has been elected president of The University of Findlay’s men’s lacrosse Club. Barth is a 2009 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and is the son of Kathy and Barry Barth of Boardman.
Local podiatrists host shoe drive
Austintown Podiatry Associates, Dr. Karlock, Dr. Flauto and Dr. Arters will be hosting their annual shoe drive through Christmas. New or gently worn shoes can be dropped off at any of the three locations.

Help kids with cancer
Stefanie S Adams Photography has teamed together with The Brett Wilcox Benefit Golf Outing to help make Christmas brighter for inpatient families at Akron Children’s Hospital Oncology floor in Akron.
For each dollar donated to Kids with Cancer, an entry will be given for the chance to win a full photography session.
Funds are being raised to have a traditional Christmas eve dinner for the family of an inpatient child and special gift for each child spending Christmas in the hospital.

Benefit concert at CHS
Canfield High School will host a concert to benefit the Dorothy Day House in Youngstown on Thursday in the high school auditorium at 7:30. The event features the band JD Eicher and the Goodnights.

Holiday musical features lyrics by local teacher
Kandace Cleland, a theater teacher at Canfield, wrote the lyrics for the upcoming one act musical “Where’s Rudolph?” at the Trinity Playhouse in Lisbon. The show will feature the Stage Left Youth Players and music by Jodine Pilmer.
There will be shows tomorrow at 7 p.m. and Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets for these shows are $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens.
In addition, there will be noon matinees on Dec. 10 and 17 that will include Lunch with Santa. Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for students and seniors.

Wollet achieves financial adviser honor
Financial adviser Harry J. Wollet, located at 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, was recently named a member of the 2012 Executive Council.
Executive Council honors are presented only to those financial advisers who have demonstrated an extremely high level of commitment to clients through personal service and professional integrity.
Wollet, who joined Raymond James in 2003, has more than 21 years of experience in the financial services industry. In honor of Wollet attaining Executive Council status, a monetary donation has been made to the United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley by Raymond James.
Boardman Park hosts Senior Fun Day
Seniors are invited to come to Boardman Park on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Senior Fun Day will include activities such as exercising, crafts, Bingo, lunch and blood pressure screening. The event will take place in the Lariccia Family Community Center. Cost is $1.

Santa’s calling your house
Boardman Park will be assisting Santa with a direct line from the North Pole to the community. Parents who would like their children, ages 3 to 8, to receive a phone call from Santa can pick up a form at the Boardman Park office or download it from www.boardmanpark.com. Completed forms should be returned to the park office, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, or faxed to 330-726-4562. The deadline for forms is Tuesday.
Christmas Cookie Walk today
Bethel Luther Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will host their Christmas Cookie Walk today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include homemade cookies sold by the dozen, hand sewn items from Bethel “Piece Makers” and homemade soups.
The event helps raise money for needs around the church and community outreach programs.
