Robotics tourneys will take place locally

The Northeast Ohio FIRST Robotics Alliance, a partnership among area high school FIRST Robotics Teams, and the Art Outreach Gallery are collaborating with Time Warner Cable to host two FIRST Lego League Robotics Regional Qualifying Tournaments in Trumbull County.

The FLL NEOFRA/Time Warner Cable Warren G. Harding Regional will be Saturday at Harding High School, 860 Elm Road NE, Warren.

The FLL NEOFRA/Time Warner Girard High School Regional will be Dec. 17 at Girard High, 1244 Shannon Road.

Both events are from noon to 5:30 p.m. Parking is free, and concessions are available. Proceeds from concessions will benefit host high school FIRST Robotics teams: Warren G. Harding Team 48 Delphi E.L.I.T.E. and Girard RoboCats Team 379.

Top performers will advance to the University of Akron Ohio FLL District Tournament on Jan. 14 and 15, 2012.
