GIRARD

The well-child immunization clinic will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Girard Health Department in the City Building. A $10 administrative fee is charged per child. Parents are reminded to bring a copy of the child’s immunization record, and that a parent or guardian must accompany children under 18. Parents must pre-register their child before the clinic. Call 330-545–6048 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Blood donors sought

Alliance

The American Red Cross Northern Ohio Blood Services Region, which includes Alliance, is in urgent need of blood and does not have enough blood and blood products to handle all of the needs of the hospitals it supplies.

To help meet the need, Alliance Community Hospital is having a blood drive today from 12:30 to 6 p.m. in Conference Room 1-A. Donor appointments can be made by calling 330-596-7821 or by registering online at www.redcrossblood.org. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (or 16 with parental consent), weigh no less than 110 pounds and have a photo ID.

Second location

WARREN

Hometown Urgent Care is opening a second location in the area Monday at 1997 Niles-Cortland Road Southeast. Also, there is a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the urgent care and occupational health center at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and an open house from 5 to 7:30 p.m. the same day.

Hometown’s two area facilities have on-site X-rays, labs, EKGs and prescriptions and offer urgent care and occupational health services including treatment for minor injuries and illnesses, and health services for employers such as work injuries, physicals, drug and alcohol testing and specialized testing that is industry specific.

The Warren and Boardman Centers are open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Food donations

WARREN

The Warren Family Mission is seeking food donations for its Community Christmas Dinner on Dec. 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. at 361 Elm Road N.E. Items needed include hams, pineapple, pork Stove Top, mashed potatoes, salad, pork gravy, cranberries, rolls, bread and butter, items for punch and Christmas cookies.

Also, the mission is collecting toys at 361 Elm to be distributed as Christmas gifts for children through age 16 in the community. The mission would like to receive the unwrapped new items by Dec. 17. The toy distribution is Dec. 20. For more information, call Michelle Beauchene at 330-394-5437.

Beginning yoga

WARREN

A seven-session beginning yoga class for adults only will be conducted by certified yoga instructor Dawn Perhacs from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 9 through Feb. 20, at St. Joseph Health Center, 667 Eastland Ave. S.E.

Perhacs will teach simple yoga postures and breathing and relaxation techniques. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or blanket and a small pillow to each class.

The cost is $58 for the general public and $44 for Humility of Mary Health Partners employees.
