YOUNGSTOWN

Humility of Mary Health Partners is one of the healthiest workplaces in America, according to Interactive Health Solutions Inc.

HMHP is one of 44 companies to receive the Healthiest Companies in America Award for 2010.

IHS determines the winners based on clinical evaluations of employees.

HMHP facilities include St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown; St. E’s Boardman Health Center and Hospice of the Valley in Boardman; Humility House in Austintown; HM Home Health Services and Pharmacy in Girard; St. Joseph Health Center in Warren; and The Assumption Village in North Lima.

It is the third-consecutive year IHS has honored HMHP.

In 2008, HMHP began offering a free health-risk assessment program to all employees. Thirty percent of employees participated the first year; that figure jumped to 60 percent in 2010.

The American Journal of Health Promotion says that employers who invest in worksite-wellness programs can experience a 28-percent reduction in sick days, a 26-percent reduction in used health-care benefits and a 30-percent reduction in workers’ compensation claims.

Seven other Ohio companies also received designation as America’s healthiest.
