Shots fired at house

Shots fired at house

WARREN

A resident of Lexington Avenue Northwest reported that four to five gunshots were fired from a moving vehicle toward her house at 9:30 p.m. Monday.

The woman said she was returning home on foot when a gray minivan drove slowly past the house and the bullets flew.

The gunshots went into the ground in front of the woman, she said.

She dropped her groceries and ran inside her house.

Police found one spent shell casing in the roadway but could not locate the bullets that hit the ground “due to the heavy rain at the time.”

Man shot in shoulder

WARREN

A 22-year-old city man remained in ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Wednesday after being hit in the shoulder by a bullet Monday at the corner of Tod Avenue and Parkman Road Northwest.

Lamar Salter of 2nd Street Southwest was hit while sitting in his car at 8:05 p.m., police said.

He drove himself to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

A second man, Ralph Duffy, 59, of Greenfield Street Northwest, was also hit by a bullet that came through his driver’s side door and grazed his left side, leaving a welt.

Duffy remained in the hospital’s emergency room late Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe the bullet that hit Duffy was not intended for him.

Police are looking for a dark-colored 2011 Chevrolet Malibu which they believe is involved in the shootings.
