YOUNGSTOWN
Seven Catholic elementary schools are being reorganized in to the Mahoning Valley Regional Catholic School System.
Holy Family in Poland, St. Charles and the Early Childhood Learning Center at St. Luke, both in Boardman, St. Christine in Youngstown, St. Joseph and Immaculate Hart of Mary in Austintown, St. Nicholas in Struthers and St. Patrick in Hubbard are part of the new governance model.
No school closures or mergers are planned.
“This educational initiative is truly a grass-roots effort, built from the ground up at the parish level,” said Nicholas Wolsonovich, superintendent of Schools for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.
