Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church was the setting at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 13 as nuptial vows were exchanged by Kristie Merlo and John Ruble in the presence of the Rev. Bruce Ballantine.

The couple accepted congratulations at a reception at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall before leaving on a wedding trip to San Diego and Las Vegas. They are making their home in Struthers.

The bride is the daughter of Frederick and Shirley Merlo of Austintown. The groom is the son of Louise Ruble of North Lima and the late Jack Ruble.

The bride’s white sleeveless gown featured a sweetheart neckline, beaded lace and sequins and flowed into a long train.

Wearing fuchsia gowns were Julie Wilson, matron of honor for her sister; and bridesmaids Tracie Odom, sister of the bride; Francesca Ruble, daughter of the groom; and Kelly Stickel. The flower girl was Mia Odom, the bride’s niece.

Serving as best man for his brother was Phil Ruble of Jacksonville, Fla. Groomsmen were Robert Ruble, the groom’s son; and Ed Odom and Jason Wilson, brothers-in-law of the bride. Rocco Odom, the bride’s nephew, was ring bearer.

The bride is a factory assembler at Altronic, Inc. in Girard, where the groom is a production supervisor.
