Cortland plans Tuesday main water line repair

CORTLAND

The city of Cortland will be performing a repair to a water main transmission line on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Water service will be maintained for all customers throughout the system. Residents may experience fluctuation in water pressure while the repairs are performed.

The residents are asked to conserve water during this period and refrain from activities that use large amounts of water such as washing clothes. The city does not anticipate that a boil advisory will be necessary. However, residents are encouraged to store water in advance of the work to utilize for cooking and drinking if one is required.

A boil advisory is mandated by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency when there is a drop in pressure in the distribution system. A pressure drop is not anticipated to occur during the repair, but an advisory could be issued if conditions dictate.
